Department of
electronics & communication Engineering

Aerospace Communication Research Centre

The department established in 2009 with ambitious research programs on atmospheric and space communications, with a comprehensive set of facilities such as Dual Frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver (Model: GPS Station 6, Novatel Canada), GPS-GSM based communication and Navigation Systems and with some proposed remote sensing applications such as Vehicle tracking System, Digital mapping, Study of GPS DOP variations etc. Presently our group is working on GPS based ionospheric modeling for aircraft landing applications. It is also proposed to establish in-situ equipments to sense and characterize the state of the Atmosphere and Ionosphere and derive the parameters for the study of the physical processes like Atmospheric Gravity Waves and related seismic activity by monitoring and validation studies. The department has established close collaboration with the National/International institutions such as NARL, ISRO, NRSA, Central University of Taiwan etc.

Establishment of department will serve the purpose of the development of the contemporary research and also provide hands-on experience for new researchers/students at the university level which is likely to motivate young talent for participation in more challenging tasks.
