The Central Library of KL University has organized 1st International Conference on Scholarly Communication and Knowledge Management in Higher Educational Institutions (ICSKH 2014) during 28th & 29th November 2014.
Prof. Dr.B. Ramesh Babu, Former Professor, Madras University & the Conference Director delivered Presidential Address. Dr. R. Sreehari Rao, Chancellor, KL, University, Dr. A.V.S. Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, KL University, Dr. A. Anand Kumar, Principal, KLUCE, Dr.K.Ramakrishna, Dean Academic, KLU were the guests of honour.
Dr. Mohammad Mezbah-ul-Islam, Professor, Dept. of Library and Information Science, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh was the Chief Guest of the Conference and released the CD version of the Conference Proceedings, and the Conference Director Dr.B. Ramesh Babu released the print version of Conference Proceeding.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Mohammad Mezbah-ul-Islam, Professor, Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In his keynote address he explained the current status of Scholarly Communication and Information literacy in Developing Countries and the current trends and challenges being faced by them to improve the quality of Information Literacy.
There were 146 participants participated in the conference from various institutions all over India, Srilanka, and Bangladesh. There were eight technical sessions and they were powered with a lot of scholarly communication and Knowledge Management with Knowledge sharing. The authors were senior LIS professionals, faculty, and research scholars who have thrown light on the respective fields of knowledge with in the frame work of the main theme.
