Inter-Library Loan

The Central Library offers inter-library loan service to its users for the books and periodicals not available in the IIT Libraries by procuring them from other libraries within Mumbai. The IIT Bombay Library, in turn, lends its resources to the libraries of other government and academic institutions on reciprocal basis. Under collaborative arrangement every Wednesday transport is available to visit BARC library. However, visitors need to register before hand for BARC security entry. The IIT Libraries already have an ongoing inter-library cooperation programme On the basis of the personal ,the photocopies of research articles are exchanged on requests with several libraries.

The document procurement service is also made available from NISCAIR, British Library Lending Division, and other document delivery services if the user is willing to bear the expenses involved.
