About K L University :

K L University is a pioneer in the field of engineering education and research in private sector. It was established as Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering in the year 1980, situated in a spacious 60 acre campus on the banks of Buckingham canal of river Krishna, 8 Km away from Vijayawada. Built within a rural setting of lush green fields, the campus is aptly named as 'green fields'. The institute has a built up area of 10,00,000sq.ft.

The institute is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC) of UGC with A grade with a CGPA of 3.76 on a 4 point scale, the highest CGPA for any engineering institute in India. KLCE is transformed to K L University after getting deemed university status under sect.3 of UGC Act 1956.

K L University knowledge base stems from the presence of eminent and highly qualified academic staff, numbering 550+ out of which 135+ doctorates and 250+ pursuing Ph.D is one of the best for any engineering institute. KLU offers 10 UG programs, 14 PG programs, 28 Integrated degree programs, dual degree programs and in addition to this research program is been offered in 14disciplins.

As a part of study abroad KLU offers twinning programs and semester abroad programs in partnering universities in US, UK, Australia or Japan. Foreign students from Srilanka, Nepal, Kenya and Bangladesh are pursuing their UG studies in our institute. Also we have MOUs in place with University of Cincinnati, Binghamton University, Jackson State University and Rutgers University, USA.

Research at KLU:

KLU places special emphasis on research, more than 1200 research papers have been published in span of last two years. DSIR of Govt. of India recognized KLU as a Scientific and Industrial Research Center.KLU has the credit of housing world class Excellency centers to boost research in emerging areas like VLSI, Nanotechnology, Robotics, Nuclear fusion, Reactor design, Automobile, Aero Space Structures etc. In order to extend R&D and consultancy activities with in the university 43 faculty research groups are functioning effectively. Funded projects of worth more than 10 crores are sanctioned & more than 5 Crores are in pipeline, which speaks about the strength of the outsourced research at KLU.

About the Department:

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in 1980.The ECE department offers UG, PG and Doctoral programs. Apart from conducting the academic work the department is involved in various research oriented projects. It has four research centres namely “Centre for Applied Research in the Electronics(CARE), Liquid Crystal Research Centre(LCRC), Opto-Electronics and Photo Acoustics(OE&PA) and Aero Space Communication Research Centre (ASCOR) , where outsourced R&D projects funded by research agencies like DST,UGC,ISRO,AICTE,DEAL,DLRL etc are being persuaded along with student projects and mini projects in the fields of Radars, Antennas, Communication and Digital signal processing, Embedded Systems and VLSI. The department has total funded projects worth more than 3 crores. Student can register into various R&D centres and can involve to perform research activities during their curriculum, and good numbers of students are involved in R&D projects and have completed their term papers and projects. The department sucessfully conducted two International Conferences on RF & Signal Processing in 2008 and 2010.
